‘People’s Convoy’ Swelling in Size as It Snakes Across the Country

The nation’s largest convoy is only getting larger, attracting thousands of supporters as it heads east to the nation’s capital.

QUICK FACTS:
  • The People’s Convoy, the US version of the Canadian Freedom Convoy, is already the largest convoy of trucks in the United States, according to The Epoch Times.
  • According to the publication, the convoy started with around 150 vehicles and is gaining all the time, with lines of supporters in the towns along the way.
  • The convoy is slated to arrive in Washington D.C. on March 5 in an effort to protest COVID-19 lockdowns and vaccine mandates.
STATEMENTS FROM CONVOY PARTICIPANTS:
  • When asked about length Maureen Steele, one of the convoy’s organizers, told The Epoch Times, “It varies. Let’s just say there are like 50 truckers that know the convoy is coming through and might have been going through this area. They’ll stop at an exit and they’ll wait for the convoy to come by, and then they’ll join it.
  • “They might join it for 200 miles or 100 miles, and then they keep going wherever they were going because they were heading in the same direction as us,” Steele said. “And then there are cars that join … and some of them go for 30 miles, some go for 100, some for 200, and then they drop off.”
  • Collin Walters joined the convoy for about 25 miles. “This is a movement that everybody should be supporting. This is a national event; this is making history,” Walters told The Epoch Times. “It’s pretty exciting,” he added.
BACKGROUND:
  • The group started from California last week and is slated to arrive in Washington D.C. sometime after the fencing is completed around the Capitol building.
  • While the primary group is picking up supporters along the way, multiple other groups are headed to the capital from Pennsylvania, Oregon, and other areas.
