In a decisive law enforcement action, eighteen arrests were made over the past week in San Bernardino County as part of a targeted crime suppression operation. Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, in coordination with local patrol stations, executed four search warrants and contacted suspects in Lake Arrowhead, Crestline, and Fontana between March 24 and March 31.
During the operation, officers seized four firearms and confiscated illegal narcotics, leading to 12 felony arrests and six misdemeanor arrests.
The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors has approved additional funding for county-wide crime suppression efforts, ensuring that local law enforcement has the necessary resources to protect citizens and restore order. This funding will further empower the Sheriff’s Department to combat the rising tide of violent crime and gang-related activity in the region.
Looking ahead, Operation Consequences will focus on targeted crime suppression in the High Desert and areas surrounding San Bernardino. The operation will involve personnel from various agencies, including the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, the California Highway Patrol, and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
Officials have made it clear that the goal is to curb violent crime, dismantle criminal street gangs, and arrest individuals involved in illegal firearm activities over the coming months. This proactive approach reflects a strong commitment to public safety and the protection of law-abiding communities.
Last month, a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputy was killed during a pursuit turned into a crash in the Inland Empire, officials confirmed.
A statement from Gloria Orejel, Public Information Officer for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, confirmed the crash. “There was a traffic collision involving a sheriff’s patrol car at the intersection of El Evado and Seneca. There are injuries, however, we are not able to confirm the extent due to live wires down in the area. Edison is enroute. We will send out an update as soon as possible.”
The fatal crash occurred just before 11 a.m. at the intersection of El Evado and Seneca streets in Victorville. Deputies were chasing a stolen vehicle when one of them was involved in a collision. The deputy was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Traffic collision at Seneca and Elevado in Victorville. Expect heavy police presence and delays. Please use alternate routes,” the department initially tweeted.
A woman in another vehicle was also involved in the crash and was transported to the hospital in unknown condition. Authorities have not yet released details on what caused the collision.
