Both Wisconsin and Michigan have required Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to remain on the ballot after he requested to be taken off.
The Wisconsin Elections Commission voted 5-1 to keep him on the ballot and deny his request.
According to ABC 27, a state statute prohibits those on the ballot from declining nomination.
Michigan’s Secretary of State also denied Kennedy’s request, with Cheri Hardmon, senior press secretary for the Michigan Secretary of State, saying in a statement: “Minor party candidates cannot withdraw, so his name will remain on the ballot in the November election.”
“The Natural Law Party held their convention to select electors for [RFK Jr.]. They cannot meet at this point to select new electors since it’s past the primary,” Hardmon said.
