Whoopi Goldberg Explodes on TV, ‘Blood on Their Hands’

During Monday’s episode of The View, co-host Whoopi Goldberg launched into a searing rebuke of federal authorities in response to the fatal shooting of ICU nurse Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. Calling the incident a “cold-blooded murder,” Goldberg accused Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino of bearing direct responsibility.

Goldberg referenced multiple angles of video footage that surfaced showing Pretti’s final moments, suggesting that the federal account of events drastically differed from what the public witnessed. “The account that federal officials are giving on what happened is vastly different than what a lot of other folks actually saw,” she said. According to her, Pretti was clearly seen holding a phone and a water bottle, not a weapon, before being shot ten times.

She questioned why a criminal investigation wasn’t immediately opened, declaring, “You haven’t gotten rid of the Bill of Rights yet, so people don’t know that we’re not supposed to go out and do this.” Goldberg expressed outrage that federal agents were not being held accountable and accused them of murdering an unarmed man in broad daylight.

Her tirade continued with a direct address to Noem and Bovino: “Kristi Noem, you can’t justify this. Mr. Bovino, you can’t justify this. You can’t justify either one. And we all see it, and we see you for what you are. You all have blood on your hands.”

Goldberg’s explosive remarks highlight the growing divide between the federal government’s narrative and public perception in high-profile use-of-force incidents. As tensions rise in Minneapolis and protests continue, the national conversation around law enforcement transparency and civil rights is reaching a fever pitch.
