President Donald Trump launched the “Gold Card” designed to accelerate the U.S. visa process.
“THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT’S TRUMP GOLD CARD IS HERE TODAY! A direct path to Citizenship for all qualified and vetted people,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Wednesday afternoon. “SO EXCITING! Our Great American Companies can finally keep their invaluable Talent. Live Site opens in 30 minutes!”
Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said DHS will work alongside the Commerce Department to “facilitate the rollout of President Trump’s Gold Card program.”
“Under this historic initiative, qualified individuals and corporations, who contribute $1 million and $2 million respectively, will receive expedited EB-1 or EB-2 green cards following rigorous vetting,” she wrote on X. “This landmark program fulfills President Trump’s promise to attract the world’s most successful entrepreneurs and investors to America while guaranteeing they have skin in the game.”
The card’s website explains that for a $15,000 DHS processing fee, a background approval, and a $1 million payment, one can “receive U.S. residency in record time.” The site also advertised the Trump Platinum Card as a soon-to-come opportunity.
“Foreign nationals can sign up now and secure their places on the waiting list for the Trump Platinum Card,” the website explains. “When launched, and upon receipt of a $15,000 DHS processing fee and $5 million contribution, they will have the ability to spend up to 270 days in the United States without being subject to U.S. taxes on non-U.S. income.”
In September, President Trump signed an order establishing the Gold Card. “It is a priority of my Administration to realign Federal immigration policy with the Nation’s interests by ending illegal immigration and prioritizing the admission of aliens who will affirmatively benefit the Nation, including successful entrepreneurs, investors, and businessmen and women,” the order says. “To advance that policy, I hereby announce the Gold Card, a visa program overseen by the Secretary of Commerce that will facilitate the entry of aliens who have demonstrated their ability and desire to advance the interests of the United States by voluntarily providing a significant financial gift to the Nation.”
