White House Urges Supreme Court to Address ‘Activist’ Judges

The White House criticized federal judges for hindering President Donald Trump’s agenda and called on the U.S. Supreme Court to intervene. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt accused certain judges of acting as “partisan activists” and overstepping their authority.

Leavitt went on to add, “They are trying to dictate policy from the president of the United States. They are trying to clearly slow walk this administration’s agenda, and it’s unacceptable.”

The administration’s frustration escalated following U.S. District Judge James Boasberg’s temporary order blocking the deportation of migrants under an 18th-century law invoked by President Trump.

In response, Trump labeled Boasberg a “Radical Left Lunatic Judge” and suggested impeachment—a move rebuked by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, who emphasized that disagreements should be resolved through appeals, not impeachment.

Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller echoed the President’s sentiments, criticizing judges who impede executive actions. Additionally, Elon Musk expressed frustration over a separate judicial order blocking the enforcement of Trump’s executive directive barring transgender individuals from military service, referring to the situation as a “judicial coup” and urging congressional action against such judges.

A spokesman for Speaker Johnson shared that his office “looks forward to working with the Judiciary Committee as they review all available options under the Constitution to address this urgent matter.”

These developments have raised concerns about potential constitutional conflicts between the executive and judicial branches. Legal experts caution that defying court orders could lead to a constitutional crisis, underscoring the importance of maintaining the balance of power among government branches.
