Trumps Declares ‘Hell To Pay’ If Hamas Does Not Release Hostages by Jan 20th

President-elect Donald Trump has issued a stern ultimatum to Hamas, demanding the release of all hostages held in Gaza before his inauguration on January 20, 2025. Failure to comply, he warned, would result in unprecedented consequences in the Middle East.

In a recent social media post, Trump stated, “If the hostages are not released prior to January 20, 2025, the date that I proudly assume Office as President of the United States, there will be ALL HELL TO PAY in the Middle East, and for those in charge who perpetrated these atrocities against Humanity.”

This declaration follows the October 7, 2023, attack by Hamas-led militants on Israeli communities, resulting in over 1,200 deaths and the abduction of more than 250 individuals, including dual Israeli-American nationals.

Trump criticized the lack of progress in freeing over 250 hostages abducted by the Iran-backed terror group, including at least seven Americans. Hamas recently released a video of Israeli-American hostage Edan Alexander, 20, who was captured during the attacks. The footage shows Alexander tearfully pleading for his release after more than 420 days in captivity.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged to take every measure necessary to secure the hostages’ release. Netanyahu’s office confirmed ongoing efforts and communication with Alexander’s family.

The conflict, now stretching beyond a year, continues to impact the region. Israeli military operations persist in Gaza as efforts for a permanent cease-fire between Israel and Hamas falter. Meanwhile, Israel reached a cease-fire agreement with Lebanon in November following Hezbollah’s attacks on northern Israel. However, tensions reignited on Monday when Israel reported a cease-fire violation by Hezbollah, prompting Netanyahu to affirm Israel’s commitment to enforce the truce.

Trump vowed that those responsible for the hostages’ captivity would face consequences unmatched in U.S. history. His remarks highlight the incoming administration’s commitment to decisive action in addressing terrorism and ensuring the safety of American citizens abroad.
