Trump Warns Russia, Stop Bombing Ukraine or Else

President Donald Trump warns Russia on Thursday, suggesting consequences if Moscow continues bombing Ukraine and refuses to engage in peace talks within the next week. The statement came during an Oval Office meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, following a deadly missile strike in Kyiv that left at least 10 dead and dozens injured.

Asked by reporters what actions the U.S. might take if the bombings persist, Trump responded, “I’d rather answer that question in a week. I want to see if we can have a deal. No reason to answer it now, but I won’t be happy. Let me put it that way—things will happen.”

Trump declined to specify what form those consequences might take, but made it clear that pressure is mounting on Russia to de-escalate. “You don’t know what pressure I’m putting on Russia,” he added. “They’re dealing—you have no idea what pressure I’m putting on Russia.”

The president reiterated that the ongoing war could and should be stopped, asserting, “It never would have happened if I were president instead of Biden.” Trump’s comments suggest that behind-the-scenes diplomatic moves are underway, with his administration pushing hard for a resolution to the conflict.

The latest developments follow months of stalled negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Trump emphasized the urgency of reaching a peace agreement to halt further civilian deaths and destruction, positioning his administration as actively engaged in seeking a diplomatic end to the war.
