Trump Organization Mulls Vietnam Tower

The Trump Organization is considering erecting a tower in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

City officials are invited to “attend a dinner party with Eric Trump, senior vice president of the Trump Organization,” a document reviewed by Reuters states. The document was signed by the acting head of Vietnam’s foreign ministry department.

Trump Organization representatives are set to “survey the proposed location of the Trump Tower building and hope to have a working session with the city’s leaders about this project,” the document adds.

The Trump Organization will also move forward on a $1.5 billion plan to build golf courses, hotels, and other projects in Vietnam.

Vietnam recently held negotiations with the United States regarding a 46% tariff on exports. U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer “agreed with Vietnam’s current approach and proposal,” a statement from Vietnam’s trade ministry said. “The United States hopes that with the mutual efforts, the technical-level negotiations in the coming days will yield positive results.”

The meeting comes as a Trump Tower is also set to come to Dubai. The project serves as the Middle East’s “first and only Trump International Hotel & Tower” and is the fifth collaboration between the Dar Global and the Trump Organization.

Eric Trump said in a statement on the development, “Trump International Hotel & Tower, Dubai is a project that reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence, luxury and innovation. We are honored to partner once again with Dar Global on this landmark development, bringing unparalleled quality and world-class amenities to Dubai’s luxury market.”
