President-elect Donald Trump has tapped Monica Crowley for several prominent positions in his administration, including Ambassador, Assistant Secretary of State, and Chief of Protocol of the United States. Trump made the announcement on Wednesday via Truth Social, emphasizing her critical role in representing the U.S. at major international events during his upcoming presidency.
“I am honored to nominate Monica Elizabeth Crowley, Ph.D., to serve as Ambassador, Assistant Secretary of State, and Chief of Protocol of the United States of America,” Trump wrote. He outlined Crowley’s responsibilities, which include serving as the administration’s representative for historic events like America’s 250th birthday in 2026, the FIFA World Cup in 2026, and the Los Angeles-hosted Summer Olympics in 2028.
Crowley is no stranger to the Trump administration, having served as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Public Affairs during Trump’s first term. Her exceptional work earned her the Alexander Hamilton Award, the Treasury Department’s highest honor, which Trump highlighted in his announcement. “She did an incredible job,” he noted.
Crowley’s political career began as an assistant to President Richard Nixon during the final years of his life, a period she documented in two bestselling books. Known for her sharp political insights, she has been a frequent contributor to conservative media, including Breitbart News radio.
Her foresight has garnered attention, particularly her early prediction that Joe Biden would not be the Democratic nominee for president in 2024. Speaking at CPAC in 2022, Crowley said, “There is no way that Joe Biden is going to be the Democrat nominee for president. I mean, he’s always been a corrupt hack, but now, he’s a corrupt hack with dementia.” Her forecast came true when Biden announced in July 2024 that he would not seek reelection.
With a proven track record and strong ties to conservative values, Crowley’s nomination signals Trump’s focus on placing experienced and loyal figures in key roles as his administration prepares for significant domestic and international events.
