“I think first we have to step back and think what a miraculous achievement this really was,” Epstein said. He warned that had Iran succeeded in obtaining a nuclear weapon, it would have been “the modern day equivalent of giving Hitler a nuclear weapon.”
Epstein emphasized the global stakes involved, stating the successful operation removed what he called “the greatest threat to world peace” from a dangerous and “maniacal regime.” He credited President Trump with executing a strategy that prevented catastrophe and restored stability to the region. “It is, I think, worthy of the Nobel Prize if it is successful,” he said.

He suggested Tehran might target Saudi Arabia or disrupt global energy markets but warned such actions would be reckless and self-defeating. “If they don’t come to the table, they’re going to face much, much more severe consequences,” he concluded.
