Trump’s Turnberry Golf Resort Vandalized Amid Gaza Controversy

Pro-Palestinian activists have vandalized President Donald Trump’s Turnberry golf resort in Scotland, protesting his proposal to relocate Gaza’s Palestinian population and redevelop the area. Overnight, the activists defaced the property with slogans like “Gaza Is Not For Sale” painted in large letters on the lawn and used red spray paint on the clubhouse’s exterior walls.

A Scotland police spokesman said, “Around 4.40am on Saturday, 8 March, 2025, we received a report of damage to the golf course and a premises on Maidens Road, Turnberry.”

The group Palestine Action claimed responsibility for the act, criticizing Trump’s treatment of Gaza as negotiable real estate. They stated on X, “Whilst Trump attempts to treat Gaza as his property, he should know his own property is within reach.”

Police Scotland received a report of the damage early Saturday morning and are conducting an investigation.

Trump’s proposal to transform Gaza into a tourist destination, dubbed the “Riviera of the Middle East,” involves relocating its over 2 million Palestinian residents to neighboring countries. This plan has been met with widespread criticism and resistance from Palestinians and supporters worldwide.

The incident at Turnberry is part of a broader wave of pro-Palestinian protests. In London, a man scaled the Elizabeth Tower, which houses Big Ben, displaying a Palestinian flag. Emergency services engaged in a six-hour standoff before resolving the situation.

The vandalism of Trump’s Turnberry resort underscores the intensity of global debates over the future of Gaza and broader Middle East policy. While peaceful protest is a fundamental right, acts of vandalism and destruction undermine constructive dialogue and solutions.
