Trump-Backed AZ Gubernatorial Hopeful Releases Footage of Interview Liberal Outlet Won’t Publish

Candidate Kari Lake granted an interview with the publication despite continued negative coverage of her campaign.

QUICK FACTS:

• Arizona Gubernatorial Candidate Kari Lake released footage of her interview with the Arizona Republic after the candidate’s harsh words for the reporter appears to have gotten the exchange blackballed by the reporter’s news organization.
• Lake, formerly an anchor in Arizona, had her staffers record the interview, along with Arizona Republic’s crew, and said that the publication “begged” for an interview though it still hasn’t released the footage after two weeks.
• The exchange between the candidate and Arizona Republic’s reporter gives some indication as to why the publication wouldn’t release the footage, as Lake can be seen taking the reporter and her employer to task about their liberal policies.
