President Donald Trump’s approval rating has jumped to 55 percent following his recent trip to the Middle East, marking a strong rebound in support among voters, particularly independents. The increase follows a series of bilateral agreements and diplomatic wins secured during the trip, including peace negotiations and economic partnerships.
According to a new Insider Advantage poll conducted from May 17 to 19, Trump’s approval rose from 46 percent in early May to 55 percent, with disapproval dropping to 44 percent. The poll surveyed 1,000 likely voters and carries a margin of error of +/- 3.09 percent.
Trump’s popularity had been on the decline in previous months, but the recent upswing suggests renewed confidence in his leadership. His diplomatic engagements in the Middle East, including deals with Saudi Arabia and efforts to ease tensions between India and Pakistan, appear to have contributed significantly to this resurgence.
Insider Advantage pollster Matt Towery noted that the upward shift was expected. He explained that prior polling showed a high number of undecided voters, signaling a possible shift. Those undecided voters have now moved heavily in favor of Trump’s job performance.
Towery emphasized that pollsters who have historically been accurate in elections involving President Trump have also observed similar trends, with Trump’s ratings pushing above the 50 percent mark. He added that the movement of undecided voters is a strong indicator of consolidating support.
The Trump administration has hailed the Middle East trip as a foreign policy win, highlighting successful negotiations and U.S.-led peace initiatives. The surge in approval indicates that voters are responding positively to Trump’s handling of international affairs and his ability to reassert America’s leadership on the world stage.
