Trump Admin Launches ‘Elite’ Tech Force to Secure Nation’s Future

The Trump administration launched a “Tech Force” initiative to accelerate the development and adoption of artificial intelligence.

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM), alongside the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the General Services Administration (GSA), the White House Office of Science Technology and Policy (OSTP), and other leaders, unveiled the effort.

“This is a clarion call,” said OPM Director Scott Kupor. “If you want to help your country lead in the age of rapid technological advancement, we need you. Tech Force offers the chance to build and lead projects of national importance, while creating powerful career opportunities in both public service and the private sector. I am grateful to President Trump for prioritizing America’s technology leadership and empowering a cross-government effort to close our nation’s critical talent gaps.”

Partners for the initiative include Adobe, Amazon Web Services, AMD, Anduril, Apple, Box, C3.ai, Coinbase, Databricks, Dell Technologies, Docusign, Google Public Sector, IBM, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, OpenAI, Oracle, Palantir, Robinhood, Salesforce, SAP, ServiceNow, Snowflake, Synopsys, Uber, Workday, xAI, and Zoom.

According to the US Tech Force website, the team will consist of “an elite corps of engineers” tasked with building “the next generation of government technology.” Participants will work in teams and will “receive technical training, engage with industry leaders, and work closely with senior managers from companies partnering with the Tech Force.”

The development of the initiative follows President Trump’s executive order calling for a cohesive AI guideline.

“My Administration must act with the Congress to ensure that there is a minimally burdensome national standard — not 50 discordant State ones,” the order explains. “The resulting framework must forbid State laws that conflict with the policy set forth in this order. That framework should also ensure that children are protected, censorship is prevented, copyrights are respected, and communities are safeguarded. A carefully crafted national framework can ensure that the United States wins the AI race, as we must.”
