Transgender Texas Man Arrested on Terrorism Charges

A transgender Texas man has been arrested on terrorism charges for allegedly planning a mass attack against law enforcement, according to the FBI. Seth “Andrea” Gregori, 22, was taken into custody on February 24 and booked into the Nueces County Jail without bail. FBI Houston stated that Gregori intended to carry out a massacre similar to the 2016 Dallas ambush, where a sniper killed five police officers and injured several others.

Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD) officers arrested Gregori at 9:04 a.m. on an FBI warrant. An arrest affidavit revealed that the FBI received a tip from an informant indicating that Gregori possessed an AR-15 platform pistol and planned to target “white cops” with CCPD.

The informant had exchanged six months of messages with Gregori, which included detailed plans for an ambush-style attack. The FBI obtained 71 pages of text messages as evidence, containing discussions of a planned massacre and 19 images from the 2016 Dallas crime scene, including photos of Micah Xavier Johnson, the perpetrator of that attack.

Court documents indicate that Gregori attempted to befriend local police officers before his arrest. Gregori reportedly bragged about “stalking” officers to gain their trust. One CCPD officer confirmed he was familiar with Gregori and stated that Gregori was always friendly toward him.

According to the affidavit, Gregori claimed he had the skills of a sharpshooter and aimed to target only law enforcement officers while avoiding harm to bystanders. Gregori specified that only “white” officers were the intended targets, while “black and Mexican cops” would be spared.

Gregori faces charges of making terrorist threats against police and criminal trespassing. Jail records indicate that Gregori was booked under the name “Andrea.”
