TPUSA Announces ‘All American’ Halftime Show

Turning Point USA announced that it will put on an “All American Halftime Show” as an alternative to the halftime appearance from Bad Bunny.

“It’s true, Turning Point USA is thrilled to announce The All American Halftime Show,” the organization said. “Performers and event details coming soon.”

TPUSA launched a form alongside the announcement, where Americans can insert their information to receive updates on the development. The form includes their preferred music choices, with “anything in English” listed as an option.

President Trump previously said of Bad Bunny performing at the Super Bowl, “I never heard of him. I don’t know who he is, I don’t know why they’re doing it, it’s crazy, and then they blame it on some promoter that they hired to pick up entertainment, I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”

The performer, whose name is Benito Antonio Martinez, recently told I-D Magazine, “I’ve enjoyed connecting with Latinos who have been living in the US But specifically, for a residency here in Puerto Rico, when we are an unincorporated territory of the US… People from the US could come here to see the show. Latinos and Puerto Ricans of the United States could also travel here, or to any part of the world. But there was the issue of—like, [expletive] ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”

The discussion centered on the performer’s previous statement that he would not hold concerts in the United States.
