Texas Resident Offers Elon Musk Land to Move Twitter Headquarters to Austin

A Texas man offered Elon Musk free land to move Twitter’s headquarters out of San Francisco.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Jim Schwertner, president and CEO of Schwertner Farms Inc., tweeted Musk on Tuesday, asking him to move the headquarters just outside of Austin, Tx. free of charge.
  • “Elon Musk, Move Twitter to Schwertner, TX,” Schwertner wrote. “38 Miles North of Austin in Williamson County and we will give you 100 Acres for FREE.”
  • Schwertner Farms is one of the largest livestock brokers in the United States and spans 20,000 acres across both Bell and Williamson counties.
TEXAS RANCHER ON ELON MUSK MOVING HIS HEADQUARTERS TO THE STATE:

“Elon Musk is the greatest thing that ever happened to Texas and central Texas,” Schwertner said. “When he came here from California and brought SpaceX and Tesla, and then The Boring Company, it’s a big boom for Texas and central Texas.”

BACKGROUND:
  • The move wouldn’t be the billionaire’s first transition to Texas, since Musk relocated the Tesla headquarters to the Lone Star State from California late last year.
  • USA Today reported Musk might also be expanding his company SpaceX and a potential Neuralink office both in Austin, and moving the headquarters of his private foundation to Texas as well.
  • “We’re ready for some diversity in our community, and I think the time is right,” Schwertner said. “No phone call yet, but I’m standing by.”
