In a revealing interview with Tucker Carlson, Teamsters president Sean O’Brien offered sharp criticism of the Democratic Party, particularly Vice President Kamala Harris, for their neglect of the working class. O’Brien, known for his candid approach, blasted Harris’ disrespectful attitude towards union members and her condescending behavior during a critical meeting.
O’Brien shared a particularly striking moment when his vice president, Joan Corey, met with Harris at an event. After introducing herself as a member of the Teamsters, Harris reportedly told her, “You better get on board. Better get on board soon,” a remark that left O’Brien furious. He recounted calling up Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh, expressing his outrage by asking, “Who does this f***ing lady think she is?”
The frustration didn’t stop there. O’Brien described how Harris agreed to attend a roundtable discussion with Teamsters after significant pressure. However, her approach during the meeting only deepened O’Brien’s disillusionment. Despite the Teamsters submitting a list of 16 questions to be answered, Harris only responded to three. Further, one of her staffers cut the meeting short, saying it would be the “last question” 20 minutes before the scheduled end.
Harris reportedly declared, “I’m going to win with you or without you” as she left, a statement that O’Brien found indicative of her dismissive attitude. “At that point in time, I knew she was going to lose me,” O’Brien said, reflecting his frustration with the lack of respect shown to working-class Americans. His comments shed light on the widening disconnect between the Democratic Party and traditional union workers, with O’Brien clearly signaling that Harris’ behavior sealed her fate in his eyes.
