Study Finds ABC News Most Biased Network for Presidential Debate

A study from the Media Research Center (MRC) concluded that ABC News is the most biased news network.

The research comes as ABC News is set to host the presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

MRC analyzed 100 campaign stories from ABC’s World News Tonight between July 21 and September 6, finding that the network has a “100% positive spin score for the Vice President.”

Only five positive comments regarding Trump were aired on the program, while 66 comments were negative.

“During these same weeks, both the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News also delivered highly positive coverage for Harris, and mostly negative coverage for Trump, yet not as extreme as we found with ABC’s World News Tonight,” the report explains. According to MRC, CBS’ comments about Harris were 94% positive, while NBC’s were 71% positive.

Interestingly, ABC never called Harris a “liberal,” while both CBS and NBC labeled Harris’ political ideology early into her campaign.

Both CBS and NBC also aired voters who did not plan to vote for Harris. ABC did not.

While ABC did not offer coverage of controversies surrounding Harris, such as her husband’s affair during his first marriage, CBS and NBC did acknowledge the incident.

When the presidential debate was confirmed, Trump acknowledged that ABC News is “by far the nastiest and most unfair newscaster in the business.”
