SoftBank Investing $100 Billion in U.S.

President-elect Donald Trump and SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son announced that SoftBank is investing $100 billion in the United States.

“My confidence level to the economy of the United States has tremendously increased with his victory,” Son said. “President Trump is a double-down president. I’m going to have to double down.”

Trump said Son is investing in the United States “because he feels very optimistic about our country since the election. This historic investment is a monumental demonstration confidence in America’s future, and it will help ensure that artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and other industries of tomorrow are being created and grown right here in the USA.”

The investment is designed to create 100,000 jobs emphasizing artificial intelligence and related infrastructure, CNBC reported.

Trump then asked Sol if he would make the investment $200 billion.

“With your leadership and my parternship and your support, I will try to make it happen,” Sol said.

Last week, Trump announced that anyone who invests at least $1 billion into the U.S. will receive “fully expedited approvals and permits.”

“Any person or company investing ONE BILLION DOLLARS, OR MORE, in the United States of America, will receive fully expedited approvals and permits, including, but in no way limited to, all Environmental approvals. GET READY TO ROCK,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump also plans to restart the Keystone XL pipeline, according to reports. Should Trump restore the pipeline, thousands of jobs in both the United States and Canada would be opened.

A source familiar with the matter told Politico last month, “It’s on the list of things they want to do first day.”
