Reform U.K. Membership Surpasses Conservative Party

The Reform U.K. Party’s membership has surpassed that of the traditional Conservative Party.

The party’s leader, Nigel Farage, called the development a “historical moment.” He wrote on X, “The youngest political party in British politics has just overtaken the oldest political party in the world. Reform UK are now the real opposition.”

Zia Yusuf, Reform U.K.’s chairman, declared that the “century-long stranglehold the two old parties have had on Britain is finally broken.” He added that Farage “will be the next prime minister, and will return Britain to greatness.”

A spokesman for the Conservative Party said Reform has “delivered a Labour Government that has cruelly cut winter fuel payments for 10 million pensioners, put the future of family farming and food security at risk, and launched a devastating raid on jobs which will leave working people paying the price.”

“A vote for Reform this coming May is a vote for a Labour council – only the Conservatives can stop this,” the spokesman said.

Reform U.K. has 131,680 members, according to its website.

Earlier this month, Farage and Reform U.K. treasurer Nick Candy met with Elon Musk at President-elect Donald J. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago.

“Money was discussed. We are in negotiations about whether he can help. He is fully behind this,” Farage said, as reported by The Times of London. “He is motivated enough by what’s going on in Britain to give serious thought to giving money.”

“Our primary goal was to discuss what he did in the ground campaign,” he explained. “There is no doubt his influence made a huge difference [during the US election]. I learnt a lot about voter registration.”
