Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has announced an “official criminal referral” to the Department of Justice (DOJ) over Dr. Anthony Fauci’s COVID testimony.

- Paul claimed the email directly contradicted “everything he said in committee hearing,” when Fauci denied “that they funded any gain of function, and it’s absolutely a lie.”
- In July 2021, Paul reminded Fauci that “lying to Congress is a federal crime,” suggesting that the doctor had lied about gain-of-function research conducted at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) in China.

“This directly contradicts everything he said in committee hearing to me, denying absolutely that they funded any gain of function, and it’s absolutely a lie. That’s why I sent an official criminal referral to the DOJ,” Paul said.

- Earlier this month, a significant overnight fire swept through the Bowling Green office of U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), along with several neighboring businesses in the downtown area, according to reports.
- The Bowling Green Fire Department was immediately on the scene to respond to the blaze that dramatically impacted not only Senator Paul’s office but also a number of commercial establishments in the vicinity, according to journalist TexasLindsay.
- The severity of the fire necessitated intensive firefighting efforts, including the removal of several large tree limbs in front of Sen. Rand Paul’s office.
- Firefighters manned the aerials of trucks 1 and 6 to access the flames from an elevated perspective, allowing for a more efficient extinguishing operation.
- The fire occurred immediately following Sen. Paul’s announcement that he had recently called for legal action against Fauci “because he has lied to Congress.”
