Quarter of Gen Z Americans Identify as LGBTQ

The Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) released a report detailing that more than a quarter of Gen Z Americans identify as being LGBTQ.

According to the report, 28% of Gen Z Americans between the ages of 18 and 25 consider themselves to be affiliated with LGBTQ.

Sixteen percent of millennials, 7% of Gen X, and 4% of baby boomers are LGBTQ.

Seventy-two percent of Gen Z Americans identify as straight, while 15% identify as bisexual.

The report also discussed party affiliations among the different generations.

Generation Z is 21% Republican, 30% are Independent, and 36% are Democrat.

Among all American adults, 27% are Republican, 29% are Independent, and 33% are Democrat.
