Protesters Chant ‘Heil Hitler’ During Olympics

Anti-Israel protesters held Palestinian flags while the Israeli national anthem played following the men’s soccer match against Paraguay.

Demonstrators were also filmed chanting “Heil Hitler” and doing the Nazi salute while others raised signs reading, “Genocide Olympics.”

Protestors similarly booed during Israel’s opening game against Mali. Leading up to the match, Israel team coach Guy Luzon said, “Bring on the loudest protests. They will make us try harder.”

“Paris 2024 strongly condemns these acts. A complaint has been lodged by Paris 2024, which is at the disposal of the authorities to assist with the investigation,” Olympic organizers said, according to Sky News.

French authorities recently launched an investigation after death threats were sent to three Israeli athletes.

Officials said the athletes will be escorted to and from events while competing in the Olympics and given 24-hour protection throughout the games.

“Total support for the measures that are being taken by the French authorities,” an Israeli diplomatic source said. “This sends an important message to individuals and organizations attempting to threaten athletes.”

Ahead of the Olympic Games, Israel’s athletes received emails from a group called the “People’s Defense Organization,” The Times of Israel reported.

“The People’s Defense Organization announces that it intends to harm any Israeli presence at the Olympics,” the email read, adding, “Therefore, you’re not invited to Paris 2024. If you come, take into account that we intend to repeat the events of Munich 1972.” The statement referred to a group of Palestinian terrorists entering the Olympic Village, murdering two Israeli athletes, and holding nine others hostage. The nine hostages were killed during a rescue effort.
