Pop singer Sabrina Carpenter publicly attacked the White House and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after learning her music had been used in a federal government video promoting deportation efforts. Carpenter, who supports radical left-wing causes, called the immigration enforcement video “evil and disgusting”—not because of the criminals being deported, but because her song was featured.
The controversy began when the White House posted a video on X (formerly Twitter), showcasing recent ICE deportations. The video included Carpenter’s pop hit “Juno,” with the caption, “Have you ever tried this one?”—a lyric from the song—followed by “Bye-bye,” and a pair of waving and heart-eyes emojis. The intent was clear: to highlight the removal of illegal immigrants, many with serious criminal records.
Carpenter reacted with outrage. “This video is evil and disgusting,” she wrote Tuesday on X. “Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.” The artist did not address the fact that ICE focuses on removing individuals convicted of crimes including assault, drug trafficking, and even murder.
The singer’s outrage reflects a growing divide between Hollywood elites and Americans who support secure borders and law enforcement. Rather than criticizing violent offenders or traffickers, Carpenter aimed her anger at the very agency responsible for keeping dangerous individuals off U.S. streets.
Carpenter, a former Disney Channel star, has a history of promoting far-left ideologies. During her performance at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, she surrounded herself with drag performers to signal support for the LGBTQ+ political agenda. Earlier this year, parents expressed outrage after she performed provocative routines during concerts attended by preteens.
In addition, Carpenter has vocally supported transgender ideology and used her platform to push radical social narratives that conflict with traditional family values. Her recent attack on ICE aligns with these efforts and reinforces her growing alignment with progressive activism over national security or law and order.
