Republican senator and vice presidential hopeful JD Vance is scheduled to record an episode with renowned podcaster Joe Rogan on Wednesday morning, according to The Guardian.
This interview will take place just five days after Rogan’s episode featuring former President Donald Trump aired, racking up tens of millions of views on YouTube. Sources familiar with the situation indicated that Vance’s recording is set to start at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday. Typically, Rogan’s podcast episodes are posted on Spotify and YouTube within a few hours after they are recorded.
Vance’s appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience” comes amid efforts by Vice President Kamala Harris’ team to arrange a conversation with the popular podcast host. Rogan disclosed earlier this week that Harris “has not passed on doing the podcast,” while noting that the timing and conditions have yet to align.
“They offered a date for Tuesday, but I would have had to travel to her and they only wanted to do an hour,” Rogan wrote. “I strongly feel the best way to do it is in the studio in Austin. My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a human being. I really hope we can make it happen.”
Both Trump and Vance have been actively participating in podcast interviews over the past month as the campaign progresses. Trump has made guest appearances on shows like “The Ben Shapiro Show,” the “Lex Fridman Podcast,” and Barstool Sports’ “Bussin with the Boys,” among others. In contrast, Vance has recently featured on podcasts hosted by comedians Theo Von and Tim Dillon.
Trump’s episode on Rogan’s podcast has accumulated over 37 million views. During that episode, Trump expressed, “Can you imagine Kamala doing this show? If she did this kind of an interview with you — I hope she does, because it would be a mess — she’d be laying on the floor comatose, you’d be saying, ‘Call in the medics.’”
In response, Harris has also been active in the podcast realm, engaging with Alex Cooper on “Call Her Daddy” and interviewing with notable figures such as Howard Stern, former NFL player Shannon Sharpe, and Charlamagne Tha God on “The Breakfast Club.”
