Police Fired ‘Less Lethal’ Weapons at Minnesotans Breaking Curfews

During the 2020 BLM riots, Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) imposed curfews for Minnesotans.

Videos of the curfew’s enforcement have resurfaced following his nomination as Democratic Vice President.

“Get in your house now! Let’s go!” an officer can be heard shouting.

“Light ’em up!” another police officer shouts.

A woman filming the incident flinches and screams as an unknown object is fired at her, running inside her home.

According to the New York Post, police officers fired paintballs at residents. Local news outlet KARE 11 reported at the time, however, that the weaponry was allegedly “less lethal.” Law enforcement did not specify what weaponry was used.

“Because much of the destruction and violence has taken place under the cover of darkness, we must implement a temporary nighttime curfew, in coordination with the Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, to ensure public safety,” Walz’s emergency executive order read.

Residents were to be inside their homes from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am.
