Planned Parenthood Employees Joke About Dismembered Baby Parts

Videos released by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) show Planned Parenthood employees in Houston, Texas, joking while discussing abortions.

In the undercover video, journalists posing as people in laboratory whole-sales speak with the Chief Medical Officer of Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, Dr. Ann Schutt-Aine, and the branch’s Vice President of Abortion Access, Tram Nguyen, RN.

One undercover reporter tells Nguyen and Dr. Schutt-Aine that “Liver is in short demand,” describing fetal organs.

Dr. Schutt-Aine tells Nguyen, “[Y]ou told me about the proposition, and so now every time a do a D&E [dilation and evacuation abortion], I’m like, ‘Oh there’s some lungs, there’s some kidneys.’”

Nguyen showed the undercover reporters a dismembered baby several weeks prior to the conversation, apologizing for the incident and explaining that on some days, aborted babies have more limbs intact.

“We just had to hurry up, whereas other days it’s more intact, where it’s like maybe only like an arm that’s disarticulated,” Nguyen said. She later laughed and said, “I’m like, ‘Yeah, I have like a leg for you!’ I’m like, oh [expletive] if other people were to hear me, they’d be like, you are [expletive] evil.”

The conversations suggest the Texas branch allegedly mutilated the babies after delivering them “intact and alive,” aiming to “cover up violations of the federal partial-birth abortion law,” according to CMP.

It may take several “passes” to remove the baby from the mother’s cervix, Dr. Schutt-Aine said. “There are some that are like, I need you to make one more pass, one more pass,” she said, noting, “To avoid BPA,” referring to Partial-Birth Abortion laws.

“Delivering a fetus alive past the navel, with intent to take any action after that will kill the fetus, is a violation of the federal partial-birth abortion law,” CMP explained.

The videos took eight years to be released.
