A petition has been launched to try to disband Rutgers University’s Turning Point USA chapter.
The petition, with more than 1,800 signatures, claims the Turning Point chapter has promoted “hate speech” and has incited “violence against our community.” It adds that a “professor felt compelled to leave the country, fearing for the safety of their family due to threats and harassment cultivated by this group.”
“We urge Rutgers University to immediately disband the Turning Point USA chapter from its campus,” the petition says. “By doing so, we will not only be upholding our commitment to educational excellence but also ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for every individual within our community.”
A separate petition aims to remove a professor from Rutgers University, stating he is a “well-known Antifa member.”
“Dr. Bray has regularly referred to mainstream conservative figures such as Bill O’Reilly as fascist while he calls for militant actions to be taken against these individuals,” the petition says. “This is the kind of rhetoric that resulted in Charlie Kirk being assassinated last month.”
Bray is the author of Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook, which has been “heavily regarded in communist and anarchist groups across social media platforms,” the petition describes.
The professor has since announced that he and his family are moving to Europe.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma has moved to create TPUSA chapters in every high school across the state.
Then-Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters said at the time, “We will be putting TPUSA on every high school campus in Oklahoma. Charlie Kirk inspired a generation to love America, to speak boldly, and to never shy away from debate. Our kids must get involved and active.”
“We will fight back against the liberal propaganda, pushed by the radical left, and the teachers’ unions,” he said. “Our fight starts now.”
