Houston pediatrician fired, Christina B. Propst has been terminated after posting a politically charged message on Facebook targeting residents of Kerr County, Texas, following devastating flash floods. In the now-deleted post, Propst suggested the victims “got what they voted for” due to their past support for President Donald Trump and Republican-led disaster relief policies.
“May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets be safe and dry. Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts,” she wrote.
The post gained widespread attention after being shared by Libs of TikTok. Kerr County has suffered severe losses from recent flooding, with dozens of children among the dead and many more still missing. President Trump has signed a major disaster declaration for the area, deploying federal resources for ongoing search and rescue operations.
Propst, who worked at Blue Fish Pediatrics, was first suspended and later permanently dismissed. The clinic issued a strong rebuke: “We strongly condemn the comments that were made in that post. That post does not reflect the values, standards, or mission of Blue Fish Pediatrics.” The practice also emphasized its dedication to serving families with compassion, regardless of background or political views.
Sherif Zaafran, president of the Texas Medical Board, confirmed that the board is prepared to investigate any complaints against Propst. “There is no place for politicization. The entire focus needs to be on looking for survivors,” Zaafran stated.
Additional posts from left-wing commentators attempted to blame the tragedy on voters’ political choices, with one saying, “if you would have just voted for Kamala,” the deaths could have been avoided. Such remarks have intensified backlash over politicizing human suffering in the wake of natural disasters.
