Analysis: Investors Keep Faith In U.S. Value Stocks As Tech Roars Back

A rebound in growth and technology stocks has investors gauging whether a months-long rally in the shares of banks, energy companies and other economically sensitive names is running on empty or simply refueling.

The Russell 1000 value index started 2021 with its biggest quarterly outperformance relative to its growth counterpart in 20 years, as investors poured money into the shares of battered companies they thought would benefit most from a vaccine-generated reopening of the U.S. economy.

The script has flipped since mid-March, with the Russell growth index gaining over 6% compared to a rise of just over 2% for value. Some investors wonder whether the market has already priced in expectations of a powerful economic rebound on the stimulus, infrastructure spending and vaccine rollouts.

“We have already had a tremendous move” in value stocks, said Mona Mahajan, senior U.S. investment strategist at Allianz Global Investors. “We are probably at the stage where we just want to be a little bit more cautious, a little bit more selective.”

Value stocks generally trade at low price-to-book or other valuation measures. Investors still see a lot of upside in the group, where names remain cheap after a decade of being trounced by high-flyers such as Amazon, Netflix and Google-parent Alphabet.

Despite their recent rally, value stocks remain about 11% below their historic average discount to the market using a composite of price-to-book and other measures, according to Solomon Tadesse, head of North American quant equity research at Societe Generale. The discount is roughly comparable to where value stood in November 2008, with the financial crisis in full swing.

Up to 50 Migrants a Day Being Released into Communities with Less Than 1,000 People

On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Evening Edit,” National Guard Association Chairman Michael McGuire said that due to crowding in migrant facilities, Customs and Border Protection are releasing “up to 50 personnel per day” into communities “that have less than a thousand people in them. And that creates a humanitarian and a public health crisis for these very, very rural and under-resourced communities.”

McGuire said, “I believe it’s safe to say that they are looking for loopholes to take advantage of this, and the time is becoming so crowded in the facilities that Customs and Border Protection are releasing, in some of our more rural communities, up to 50 personnel per day that are either adults or family units into the communities that have less than a thousand people in them. And that creates a humanitarian and a public health crisis for these very, very rural and under-resourced communities.”

‘Millionaires Tax’ Threat Has Some NY Bankers, Managers Eyeing Exits

BOSTON – For decades New York’s bankers and fund managers have accepted the city’s high tax rates as a part of working in the world’s premier financial capital.

But with plans afoot to raise rates as part of a New York state budget agreement, some financiers are exploring exits, emboldened by a pandemic that has illustrated how working on Wall Street may no longer mean working from Wall Street.

“I’m already looking for an apartment in Florida,” said one highly paid person at a top-tier bank who asked not to be identified because his employer does not yet know of his plans to move.

Others earning more than $1 million are considering still bolder steps such as moving not only themselves but also their entire investment firms out of the city, arguing higher taxes cut into their ability to pay staff.

A proposal making its way through New York’s state legislature would have top New York City earners paying up to 15.73% in combined state and city taxes.

New York state’s income tax rates currently range from 4% to 8.82% and New York City’s tax ranges from 3.08% to 3.88%, leaving the top earnings paying closer to 12.7%.

Rapper DMX Received Covid Jab Before Suffering Fatal Heart Attack

  • Rapper died one week after suffering heart attack.
  • Reportedly got vaccinated after NY Gov. Cuomo opened up eligibility to ages 50+, family member claims

Iconic rapper DMX allegedly received a Covid-19 vaccine prior to suffering a heart attack that led to his death, reports claim.

On Friday, DMX, AKA Earl Simmons, died after spending almost a week in the ICU on life support in critical condition.

According to TMZ, a source claimed Simmons, who was previously known to have a drug problem, suffered a heart attack that left him in a “vegetative state” after overdosing at his home.

One day ahead of Simmons’ death, black entertainment site MediaTakeOut News published exclusive comments citing one of X’s alleged family members.

Gaetz’s Female Staff Blast ‘False Allegations’ While NYT Makes Excuses For Bill Clinton’s Sex Abuse

“The Women of the Office of U.S. Congressman Matt Gaetz,” have penned an open letter in defense of their boss today, following over a week of allegations against the Floridian Congressman. The New York Times, conversely, has used the day to defend Bill Clinton’s sexual exploits.

Following a bizarre CNN interview featuring a former Air Force Intelligence Officer and a raft of wild claims involving $25,000,000 and a long-believed-dead CIA operative, the Congressman’s female staffers took aim at the still-unnamed “accusers.”

“After the shocking allegations last week in the press, we, the women of Congressman Matt Gaetz’s office, feel morally obligated to speak out,” all eight of Gaetz’s female staff said on Thursday:

“During Congressman Gaetz’s time in office, we have been behind the scenes every step of the way. We have staffed his meetings. We have planned his events. We have traveled with him. And we have tracked his schedule. Congressman Gaetz has always been a principled and morally grounded leader. At no time has any one of us experienced or witnessed anything less than the utmost professionalism and respect. No hint of impropriety. No ounce of untruthfulness.”

Christian Uyghur Describes Genocide In China, ‘There Is No Hope For Us’

“When I came to America, I could see that this is human. They, as a people, are living as a human. But in China, no. That’s different. You’re living in a cage…like animals.”

Hundreds of thousands of Chinese Uyghur people in the Xinjiang region are being actively persecuted, oppressed, and sent to concentration camps for “re-education” where they are tortured, abused, indoctrinated, and killed.

In an exclusive interview with National File, Chinese Uyghur Mamatili Yakuf tells his story, where he describes a dark, dystopian, authoritarian China.

Yakuf was born and raised in Xinjiang, China by a family of coal miners. He grew up with his mother, father, two sisters and one brother. Yakuf fled Communist China in 2016, after years of mistreatment, abuse, and neglect by his government for being a member of the Uyghur ethnic minority.

His friends tell him that it was a “miracle” that he made it out safely before it was too late, that he would be dead if he hadn’t.

CDC Turns Away from Actual Dangers to Declare Racism a ‘Public Health Threat’

The country continues to enter uncharted waters as what are supposed to be nonpartisan government health and law enforcement agencies are politicized by the American left.

If you were to poll a group of random people and ask them what they thought of the FBI, odds are, you’d hear a great deal about the agency being used as the law enforcement wing of the Democratic Party.

Likewise for the upper echelons of the U.S. military, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration and other agencies.

Despite the hard-working and honorable rank-and-file people doing great work to protect us from tangible threats, the appearance of left-wing bias has harmed these institutions — and for good reason. The trust is evaporating.

Now, even the science that Democrats claim to care so much about has become hyper-political.

Greta Thunberg is boycotting the climate summit because of ‘vaccine nationalism’

She wants it postponed until more people can be vaccinated

Greta Thunberg says that she will not attend the next global climate summit because the inequality of vaccine distribution means not all countries will be represented equally.

The teenage climate activist said the (Conference of the Parties) COP26 summit planned in Glasgow, Scotland in November, will have unequal representation from countries that have less access to vaccines.

“Of course I would love to attend the Glasgow COP26. But not unless everyone can take part on the same terms,” Thunberg said in a tweet.

‘No Thanks’ to Bill Gates Plan to Block Sun With Chalk Dust, Scandinavia Says

Three Swedish environmental groups joined the Saami Council, which defends the rights of the reindeer-herding people from Norway to Russia, in opposing the Gates-funded project to release chalk dust from a balloon 12 miles up in the atmosphere to block solar radiation.

The first stratospheric test of geoengineering research technology, funded by Bill Gates, has been suspended under pressure from the indigenous people over whose heads it would take place, the Saami of northern Scandinavia. It may be moved back to the United States.

At the recommendation of the project’s Advisory Committee, the scheduled June test has been called off. That became public March 31.

When Bill Gates’ $4.5 million investment in geoengineering research came to light in 2010, one of the scientists he put in charge of the project, Ken Caldeira, said the money was not funding any field experiments. But as the project has grown and moved to Harvard, that line was crossed.

The Stratospheric Controlled Perturbation Experiment — SCoPEx for short — intends to release around a kilogram of calcium carbonate, essentially chalk dust, from a propelled balloon-gondola rig 12 miles up. Particles would cover the equivalent of 11 football fields and test the material’s potential to block a portion of solar radiation, countering the heat-trapping effects of carbon dioxide. The June test would not have released any particles, only tried out the rig’s technologies.

Last December SCoPEx announced it was moving the rig test to Sweden because of the pandemic. It was to have been in Arizona and New Mexico. The new test site was to be Swedish Space Corporation’s launch center at Kiruna near the Arctic Circle, the Saami homeland. Trouble was, nobody had talked to the Saami or much anyone else in Sweden.
