In A Reversal Of The Trump Administration’s Practices, Biden State Dept. Considers Abortion A ‘Human Right’

The U.S. State Department under President Joe Biden’s leadership has restored clauses on global reproductive rights that were previously redacted under the pro-life Trump administration in its annual human rights report. The 2020 edition of the Congressionally-mandated Human Rights Report affirms the Biden administration’s commitment to promoting legalized abortion, calling it “reproductive rights.”

According to the Washington Post, an updated version of the 2020 Human Rights Report was released on Thursday and includes sections outlining how foreign countries deal with matters such as access to contraception and abortion, data on maternal mortality, and other issues surrounding reproductive health and family planning.

State Department spokesperson Ned Price explained that the changes made to the annual report, which was first released in March without specific reproductive rights sections, reflects the Biden administration’s commitment to promote gender equality.

“We reaffirm our full commitment to promote and protect the sexual and reproductive health of all individuals, recognizing the essential and transformative role they play in gender equality and women and girls’ empowerment around the world,” Price explained to reporters.

In 2018, the Trump administration removed a section on reproductive rights, which officials said at the time would “avoid using a term they said was seen as loaded.” Pro-life advocates denounce the term “reproductive rights” because it often referred to abortion. The human rights report’s reproductive rights section was first introduced during the Obama administration, with the leadership of then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The Biden administration’s Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in March that the department did not have time to make more changes after taking office in January, but promised a follow up with an expanded report that included reproductive rights, “because women’s rights – including sexual and reproductive rights – are human rights,” Blinken explained.

According to the Christian Headlines, theologian Albert Mohler, who serves as the president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, argued that the new report that includes abortion rights is a “propagandist misuse of the category of human rights.”

Mohler argued on his podcast called “The Briefing,” “It is a morally grotesque corruption of the idea of human rights, but this is increasingly the notion of human rights that is being driven by a secularized society and it’s unhinged from any kind of understanding of the origin of rights coming from outside human beings ourselves.”

The landmark Supreme Court decision on the Roe v. Wade case, which legalized abortion across the U.S., is at risk for being overturned at the end of this year because the highest court is set to decide on the onstitutionality of a Mississippi state law that prohibits abortions after the 15th week of pregnancy in a case called Dobbs v. Jackson.

In a a virtual panel held by the Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy, Biotechnology, and Bioethics at Harvard Law School on Wednesday, legan and bioethics experts discussed what abortion would look like in the event Roe v. Wade is overturned, the Harvard Crimson reported.

Panelist and Florida State University College of Law professor Mary Ziegler shared that the “current national dialogue on abortion is reflective of a shift in the focus of the anti-abortion movement towards a discussion of fetal rights, as opposed to women’s rights.”

Project Veritas Lawyer Alleges DOJ, FBI Might Have Leaked Confidential Info to NYT

The investigative group faced a series of FBI raids as part of an investigation into the disappearance of the diary of the US president’s daughter, Ashley Biden.

The Department of Justice or the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) may have leaked confidential information to The New York Times about the raids against Project Veritas journalists and their legal communications, the attorney for the investigative group’s chief, Harmeet Dhillon, has stated.

“We have a disturbing situation of the US Attorney’s Office or the FBI tipping off The New York Times to each of the raids on Project Veritas’ current and former employees. We know that because minutes after these raids occurred they got calls from The New York Times which was the only journalism outlet that knew about it”.

The attorney, however, admitted that Project Veritas can’t say with absolute certainty how the NYT obtained information on the raids and the legal memos of the journalists, recently published in a “hit piece”. She noted that regardless of how the newspaper obtained this information it did so in an “illegal and unethical” manner.

The New York Times published excerpts from legal advice that Project Veritas’ lawyer gave to its journalists, who are known for engaging in secret filming and faking their identities with the goal of obtaining unique information for their bombshell reports. They namely reported on the alleged influence of employee bias on Google and CNN’s operations, as well as other questionable practices in private companies.

The newspaper that published the legal memos was among the targets of Project Veritas in 2017. The journalistic group published several undercover pieces of footage of the newspaper’s employees in 2017. In addition, the two went to court after the NYT accused Project Veritas of running a “coordinated disinformation campaign” by publishing reports on alleged illegal ballot-harvesting by Democrat lawmaker Ilhan Omar’s campaign in 2020.

However, the group’s latest legal woes are oddly related to things they did not publish. In 2020, the media outlet was contacted by unidentified “tippers”, who handed them a copy of the alleged diary of Ashley Biden – daughter of the then-Democratic presidential candidate. The notebook was purportedly stolen from a room in which she had stayed, but Project Veritas could not verify the authenticity of the diary and decided not to publish it.

Regardless of their decision, the excerpts from the diary were released by another media outlet, but Project Veritas ended up in the FBI’s crosshairs, with the law enforcement agency raiding the homes of current and former employees, including the group’s founder James O’Keefe. He called the raids an “attack on the First Amendment” and urged all journalists to harshly condemn it.

Kyle Rittenhouse’s mother shames Biden after she says he ‘defamed’ Kyle by suggesting he was a white supremacist: Biden ‘did that for the votes’

Wendy Rittenhouse, mother of 18-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse — who is on trial for fatally shooting two men during Kenosha, Wisconsin, riots — says that President Joe Biden “defamed” her son by suggesting that the teen was a white supremacist.

The Kenosha riots erupted following the police shooting of Jacob Blake.

During Wednesday’s proceedings, a tearful Kyle insisted that he acted in self-defense after feeling cornered by one of the victims.

What are the details?

Wendy appeared on Fox News’ “Hannity” on Thursday night, where she called out Biden for wrongly intimating that Kyle was a white supremacist.

In 2020, then-presidential candidate Biden tweeted images of Kyle and slapped then-President Donald Trump for ignoring what the Democrat said was “white supremacy.” In the tweet’s caption, Biden suggested that white supremacists were partially responsible for the violence that unfolded during the protests.

“There’s no other way to put it: The President of the United States refused to disavow white supremacist on the debate stage last night,” Biden wrote at the time.

Wendy told Fox host Sean Hannity that she was furious when she saw Biden’s tweet.

“When I saw that, I was shocked,” she said. “I was angry. President Biden don’t know my son whatsoever, and he’s not a white supremacist. He’s not a racist. And [Biden] did that for the votes. And I was so angry for a while at him and what he did to my son. He defamed him.”

Wendy told Fox host Sean Hannity that her son still has nightmares about the incident and that the 18-year-old still has a “lot of healing to do.”

Hannity later asked Wendy if she believes her son is receiving a fair trial thus far.

“The judge is very fair,” she said. “The people that I talked to that lived in Kenosha all their lives, they told me that Judge Schroeder is a very fair judge and he doesn’t allow no nonsense in his courtroom.”

What else is there to know?

Kyle’s defense rested its case on Thursday, and closing arguments are set to begin on Nov. 15.

Kyle was charged with two counts of homicide for shooting 36-year-old Joseph Rosenbaum and 26-year-old Anthony Huber during the riots. Gaige Grosskreutz, a surviving third person Kyle shot, testified on Monday.

Kyle was also charged with possession of a weapon by a person under 18, as well as multiple counts of reckless endangerment.
