Republican James Comer (KY), incoming Oversight Committee Chair, alongside Jim Jordan (R-OH) stated the committee’s intentions to investigate the beginnings of Covid. The committee plans to specifically look into “the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s role in obscuring the truth regarding the initial outbreak, and whether any U.S. taxpayer dollars funded the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s (WIV) dangerous gain-of-function research.” Some of the officials to be investigated include Dr. Anthony Fauci, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra, and others.
