European Union official Věra Jourová, the outgoing Commission Vice President for Values and Transparency, said Elon Musk is a “promoter of evil.”
In an interview with Politico, Jourová claimed Musk is “not able to recognize the difference between good and evil.”
“We started to relativize evil, and [Musk] is helping it proactively. He is a promoter of evil,” she said.
The E.U. official further claimed that X is the “main hub for spreading antisemitism now.”
According to information shared on social media, X is not the “main hub” for antisemitic content.
“Good riddance. If she wants to see evil, I suggest she use a mirror,” Musk wrote on X in response to Jourová’s claims.
European Union officials have previously criticized Elon Musk’s free speech platform.
Commissioner for Internal Market of the European Union Thierry Breton resigned last month after making efforts to censor Musk’s X.
Breton’s resignation followed a letter he sent Musk in August demanding that he mitigate the “amplification of harmful content in connection with relevant events.” The letter came as Musk was set to hold an interview with former President Donald Trump.
“This is important against the background of recent examples of public unrest brought about by the amplification of content that promotes hatred, disorder, incitement to violence, or certain instances of disinformation,” Breton wrote.
