Leftist commentator Keith Olbermann is blaming President Donald Trump and the MAGA movement for Sundayās terror attack in Boulder, Colorado, accusing the former president and his allies of creating an environment that led to the violence. The incendiary remarks came in a promo for Olbermannās Countdown podcast, where he claimed Trumpās immigration policies are āa preliminary to ethnic cleansing.ā
āIt is Trumpās fault, it is Stephen Millerās fault, it is MAGAās fault,ā Olbermann stated, referring to the firebombing at a pro-Israel rally that left multiple people injured. The attacker, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, a foreign national without legal status, was heard yelling anti-Israel slogans and is currently under investigation by federal authorities for terrorism.
Olbermann escalated his rhetoric, describing immigration enforcement as āa performanceā and āsadism,ā and accused Trump supporters of backing a campaign rooted in cruelty and authoritarianism. His comments included inflammatory references to āethnic cleansingā and ICE agents as āGestapo.ā
President Trump, responding to the attack on Monday, condemned the firebombing as a terrorist act and blamed the Biden administrationās open-border policies for allowing dangerous individuals into the country. āWe must immediately deport illegal, anti-American radicals,ā Trump said.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also issued a statement, labeling the attack a āvicious terror attackā and linking it to rising global antisemitism. The assault in Boulder comes at a time when Jewish communities across the U.S. have reported increased hostility, which many argue is exacerbated by anti-Israel rhetoric in media and academia.
The suspect, Soliman, reportedly targeted attendees of the pro-Israel walk, shouting, āEnd Zionistsā and āPalestine is free,ā before launching Molotov cocktails at the crowd. The Department of Homeland Security and FBI are assisting in the ongoing investigation.
