Obama Admin’s Intelligence Community Utilized Foreign Groups to Spy on Trump: Report

Journalists Michael Shellenberger, Matt Taibbi, and Alex Gutentag revealed in a report that the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) used foreign allies to spy on Donald Trump.

According to sources close to the matter, the IC, including the CIA, “illegally mobilized foreign intelligence agencies to target Trump advisors long before the summer of 2016.”

The information “fills many gaps in our understanding of the Russia collusion hoax and is supported by testimony already in the public record,” the journalists wrote.

The United States IC asked its “Five Eyes,” a group of foreign intelligence allies consisting of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, to work with the United States and share any information gathered on Trump’s associates.

Sources revealed to the journalists that former President Barack Obama’s CIA Director John Brennan “identified 26 Trump associates for the Five Eyes to target.”

The associates became “targets for collection and misinformation,” the sources said.

Several of the individuals reportedly targeted included General Michael Flynn, Trump’s foreign policy advisor Carter Page, and Trump aide George Papadopoulos.
