No Labels Plans Presidential Candidate Despite High-Profile Declines

No Labels, a third-party political organization, intends to proceed with a presidential candidate this November, even as prominent contenders have declined to enter the race.

Approximately 800 delegates from No Labels are slated to convene virtually on Friday and cast votes to initiate a 2024 presidential campaign, as reported by The Associated Press.

While No Labels has entertained the prospect of fielding a candidate for months, the organization refrains from disclosing its nominees for president and vice president this week. Instead, the group anticipates commencing a selection process for potential candidates later next week.

Although No Labels did not directly affirm plans for Friday’s meeting, senior strategist Ryan Clancy remarked, “We expect our delegates to encourage the process to continue.”

The decision arises as former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden appear poised for a 2020 rematch this November.

Strategists for the group articulated intentions to nominate a presidential candidate from one major political party and a vice presidential candidate from the other party.

Last week, West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, who ruled out reelection to the Senate and a presidential bid, cautioned No Labels to contemplate whether the group might function as a “spoiler” in the election.
