New Zealand Denies Candace Owens Visa Request

Conservative commentator Candace Owens was denied a visa request to enter New Zealand for a speaking event.

Immigration officials said the refusal was made because another country, Australia, has also denied Owens a visa.

“Under section 15(1)(f) of the Immigration Act, an individual may not be granted a visa to come to New Zealand if they have been excluded from another country,” Acting deputy chief operating officer Jock Gilray said, as per the New Zealand Herald.

American Faith reported that Australian Immigration Minister Tony Burke said Owens may “incite discord.”

“From making controversial remarks regarding the Holocaust and Dr. Josef Mengele to statements alleging that Muslims initiated slavery, Candace Owens poses a risk of inciting discord across multiple areas,” Burke stated. “Australia’s national interest is best served by not admitting her at this time.”

Owens is scheduled to speak in several Australian cities and in Auckland, New Zealand, in February and March 2025.

The commentator departed from The Daily Wire in March 2024.
