Mueller Subpoena Dropped Amid Health Claim

The House Oversight Committee plans to pull its subpoena for former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director and special counsel Robert Mueller.

A committee spokesperson told The Daily Caller News Foundation that Mueller is facing health issues that prevent him from testifying on matters relating to Jeffrey Epstein.

“We’ve learned that Mr. Mueller has health issues that preclude him from being able to testify,” the spokesperson said. “The Committee intends to withdraw its subpoena.”

Mueller was initially directed to appear for deposition on September 2.

“I have a motion to subpoena the following individuals to expand the full committee’s investigation into Miss Maxwell – and the list reads as follows,” Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) said last month during a subcommittee meeting. “William Jefferson Clinton, Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton, James Brian Comey, Loretta Elizabeth Lynch, Eric Hampton Holder, Jr., Merrick Brian Garland, Robert Swan Mueller III, William Pelham Barr, Jefferson Beauregard Sessions the third, and Alberto Gonzales. That’s the full list, Mr. Chairman. And that’s the motion.”

Former Attorney General William Barr provided his testimony for the Epstein investigation on Monday.

“He said that he had never seen anything that would implicate President Trump in any of this, and that he believed if there had been anything pertaining to President Trump with respect to the Epstein list, that he felt like the Biden administration would probably have leaked it out,” House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) told reporters, as per Fox News, adding that the former attorney general explained he never saw information that showed Trump in the files, and that “he would be shocked if there was anything pertaining to President Trump that was negative that the Biden administration wouldn’t have leaked out prior to the presidential election.”
