- When asked what those reasons were, Reyes said it may have been “to get closer to those children instead of paying attention to the other bad things. I have no words. I don’t know.”
MOTHER SAYS SHOOTER ‘WASN’T A VIOLENT PERSON’:
- Reyes told DailyMail.com, “My son wasn’t a violent person. I’m surprised by what he did.”
- “I pray for those families. I’m praying for all of those innocent children, yes I am. They [the children] had no part in this,” she went on to say. “I had a good relationship with him. He kept to himself; he didn’t have many friends.”
BACKGROUND:
- Rolando Reyes, Ramos’ grandfather, told ABC News he “didn’t know he had weapons. If I’d have known, I would have reported it.”
- The shooter, a student at Uvalde High School, had been staying with the grandfather and his wife because the teen had “problems” with his mother.
- Ramos was shot and killed by an unnamed agent believed to be from the Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC).
