Michigan School Shooter Eligible For Life Without Parole

Ethan Crumbley, 17, the teenager who plead guilty to murdering four students and injuring seven others during a school shooting in 2021 is eligible for a life sentence without parole.

Oakland County Circuit Judge Kwame Rowe will either sentence Crumbley to life in prison or a minimum of 25 to 40 years behind bars.

“The court finds that the prosecution has rebutted the presumption by clear and convincing evidence that a sentence to life without parole is a disproportionate sentence,” Rowe said.

Rowe claimed the chance of rehabilitation for Crumbley are “slim.”

“The defendant continues to be obsessed with violence and could not stop his obsession even while incarcerated at the jail. This obsession with violence is in part what caused defendant to commit the underlying offense. If the defendant continues to be obsessed with violence in the jail, how can there be a possibility of rehabilitation?” he continued.

From Newsmax:

Crumbley was a sophomore at Oxford High School on Nov. 30, 2021, when the shooting occurred. He pleaded guilty in October to 24 charges, including terrorism and first-degree murder, in a shooting that drew national attention and raised questions about his parents’ alleged role.
