Several Muslim leaders in Michigan endorsed former President Donald Trump during his Saturday rally.
The leaders said Trump “promises peace, not war.”
“We as Muslims stand with President Trump because he promises peace,” Imam Belal Alzuhairi declared to the audience. “He promises peace, not war. We are supporting Donald Trump because he promised to end war in the Middle East and Ukraine. The bloodshed has to stop all over the world, and I think this man can make that happen.”
“I personally believe that God has saved his life twice for a reason,” Alzuhairi added. ”I believe personally that God has saved his life for a reason, which is to save the lives of others.”
“We support Donald J. Trump for his commitment to promoting family values and protected our children wellbeing, especially when it comes to curriculums and schools. We, as Muslims, support this man because we believe that he will be a president for all Americans, embracing every race, color, and religion. We are with President Trump because we want a strong border, and we agree with President Trump that anyone who wants to come to this country is welcome, but he has to do that through legal pathway.”
“We are with President Trump because we want a strong economy,” Alzuhairi continued. “Don’t you want that? We are with President Trump to make America great again through peace and justice for all.”
Last month, Michigan mayor Amer Ghalib endorsed Trump.
“Ladies and Gentlemen,” Ghalib wrote on social media, “Let me be clear, so our expectations are realistic. President Trump and I may not agree on everything, but I know he is a man of principles.”
“Though it’s looking good, he may or may not win the election and be the 47th president of the United States, but I believe he is the right choice for this critical time. I’ll not regret my decision no matter what the outcome would be, and I’m ready to face the consequences.”
“For this, and for many other reasons, I announce my support and endorsement for the former, and hopefully, the next president of the United States, Donald Trump,” he wrote. “Now, let the Caravan begin its journey. This is just the starting point.”
