Melania Sounds Call for Unity

First Lady Melania Trump spoke at the Congressional Club Members’ 113th First Lady’s Luncheon. She used the event to “promote her longstanding theme of unity to drive meaningful impact,” the White House said.

During her remarks, Mrs. Trump commented on the importance of uplifting the nation’s children, calling them “our moral equals.”

“As parents and leaders, it is our ethical obligation to ensure our kids develop emotionally and physically within a safe environment,” she said, going on to explain her efforts to support children, such as Fostering the Future, the Take It Down Act, and improving conditions for America’s foster youth.

“We are not here to prepare our children for yesterday’s world. Be purposeful with your objectives and remember that AI accelerates everything,” she added, discussing technological advancements for children. She went on to declare that she is “grateful for the opportunity to serve as First Lady, but understand that my persistence alone is not enough. Together, we can change people’s lives for the better.”

“America’s children will ultimately protect our future freedom,” the first lady declared.

Mrs. Trump’s initiatives supporting children have had sweeping global effects, such as reunifying children separated from their families in the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Education has also been a value of the first lady’s, as she has linked it to peace between nations.

Declaring that peace “will be achieved when knowledge and understanding are fully valued within all societies,” Mrs. Trump asserted during a United Nations Security Council meeting that the “value placed on education by a nation’s leaders shapes the core of their country’s belief system.” She added that children “raised in a culture rooted in intelligence develop confidence, innovate, build, compete, and maintain a deep value system. Their knowledge fosters empathy for others, transcending geography, religion, race, gender, and even local norms. They become caring people.”
