Man Appears to Tamper with Montana Ballot Box

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee reportedly fired one of its staffers in Montana after he was seen allegedly tampering with a ballot box.

“Poll observers are instructed not to touch ballot boxes. This individual was attempting to ensure a new ballot box was secured to the wall, neither the ballot box nor ballots were affected,” DSCC spokesperson David Bergstein told Fox News Digital. “Their actions were not in accordance with our procedures and out of an abundance of caution they will no longer be doing this work moving forward.”

The man in the video, identified as Laszlo Glendler, is seen placing his hands on the ballot box, stepping away, and placing his hands on the box again.

Glacier County Elections administrator Crystal Cole sent the video to Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen, who said in a statement, according to KRTV, “This isn’t speculation — it is on camera. … We are currently investigating this matter with the help of law enforcement and will continue to observe the actions of the Democratic Party of Montana under close watch.”

Richie Melby, the Communications Director for Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen, told Montana Talks, “The Glacier County election administrator contacted our office expressing serious concern over surveillance footage that appeared to show an individual ‘tampering’ with a ballot box.”

“Our Elections Director contacted the election administrator, who confirmed that the individual in the footage is Laszlo Gendler. The name of the suspect and details were turned over to Glacier County law enforcement. Our Elections Director was pleased that the individual was not able to remove the ballot box from the wall, although the activity was obviously highly suspicious and concerning.”
