Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC) has launched a gubernatorial bid for her state, declaring that “God’s not done with South Carolina, and neither am I.”
“You and me. Our mission begins now,” she said. “South Carolina First. Nancy Mace for Governor.”
Mace’s campaign website details her vision for a “stronger South Carolina,” which is one rooted in a zero percent income tax, strong borders, energy independence, protection of women’s spaces, and advancing school choice.
“We’re going to ban pronouns in the classroom,” Mace said Monday while discussing her policy platform. “I don’t want to see any glitter parties. I want kids coming home with A’s and B’s, not they and them. We’re going to have tech-free school zones.” She added that the state “will not fund any schools that allow biological men in women’s bathrooms or locker rooms, that allow men to compete in women’s sports, or schools that push gender ideology.”
Other Republicans in the gubernatorial race include state Senator Josh Kimbrell and South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson. Mace alleged earlier this year that Wilson ignored claims of sexual assault against her and other women.
“Nancy Mace is a liar who will do anything to get attention to distract from her liberal voting record,” Wilson told Fox News, discussing the allegations. “I’ve served our country and dedicated my civilian career to protecting children.”
“Her attacks are, again, categorically false and are just a distraction from her liberal agenda,” he added. “South Carolina families need a Governor who will fight for our values, not someone who will compromise them for political gain and social media clicks.”
