Kimberly Guilfoyle Nominated as Ambassador to Greece

President-elect Donald Trump nominated Kimberly Guilfoyle to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to Greece.

“For many years, Kimberly has been a close friend and ally. Her extensive experience and leadership in law, media, and politics along with her sharp intellect make her supremely qualified to represent the United States, and safeguard its interests abroad,” Trump wrote on Trump Social. “Kimberly is perfectly suited to foster strong bilateral relations with Greece, advancing our interests on issues ranging from defense cooperation to trade and economic innovation.”

Guilfoyle said that she is “honored” to have received the nomination.

“President Trump’s historic victory is bringing hope and optimism to the American people and to freedom-loving allies across the world,” she wrote on X. “President Trump’s historic victory is bringing hope and optimism to the American people and to freedom-loving allies across the world.”

“And now, we have an opportunity to honor that history by bringing better days here at home and abroad,” Guilfoyle continued. “As ambassador, I look forward to delivering on the Trump agenda, supporting our Greek allies, and ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity.”

A source familiar with the nomination told The Daily Mail, “There were a ton of people vying for this. It is one of the hottest posts in the world,’ said a source familiar with the president-elect’s thinking. Not just because it’s an amazing place place to live, but because it’s a hotbed of activity with everything that is happening in Syria, throughout the middle east, and the migrant crisis.”
