John Dolmayan Trump Support, ‘I Voted for Him’

John Dolmayan, drummer of the rock band System of a Down, revealed in a recent interview that he voted for President Donald Trump and is pleased with his victory. Speaking to Australian YouTuber Lilian Tahmasian, Dolmayan criticized woke culture and lifelong politicians, praising Trump’s leadership for restoring “sanity” to the country.

“I voted for Donald Trump and I’m glad he won, because it brings a little sanity back,” Dolmayan said. “Irrespective of what you hear out there, it’s much more sane with him than it was without him.”

Dolmayan also voiced his opposition to woke ideology, stating, “I don’t believe in the woke culture at all. It’s no secret what my belief system is. And I also don’t think having lifelong career politicians is good for society.”

He described liberalism as an idealistic mindset, acknowledging that while he supports social programs to help those in need, he also values hard work and self-sacrifice. “I don’t wanna subsidize somebody that is lazy or doesn’t wanna pursue something because I worked very hard to get to where I am,” he explained.

Discussing America’s political structure, Dolmayan noted that the U.S. is a constitutional republic and lamented the rise of career politicians. “The objective in the beginning was you would have a farmer [in Congress]… now we have people who go to law school, become an aide, and spend the next 40 years toeing the company line,” he said, criticizing politicians for taking money from special interest groups.

Dolmayan’s support for Trump aligns with his past conservative statements, despite political differences with some of his bandmates. His comments have once again sparked discussion among fans and the music industry.
