During a debate on Tuesday night at the headquarters of CBS News in New York, the 2024 vice presidential candidates — Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz, representing the Democrats, and Ohio’s Senator JD Vance, for the Republicans — faced off, attracting significant criticism, particularly towards Walz’s performance.
Critique on Walz’s apparent unease was widespread, with Saagar Enjeti pointing out that this discomfort could largely be attributed to his lack of media engagement since being chosen as Vice President Kamala Harris’ vice-presidential partner.
Enjeti noted, “15 minutes in and its clear that Walz not doing interviews was a big mistake: He’s nervous and JD is comfortable because he’s been in doing an adversarial interview a day since he was picked.”
