On Tuesday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) made public the successful rescue of another individual abducted by the Hamas militant group on October 7.
Qaid Farhan Alkadi, a father to 11 and a Bedouin Muslim, who was employed as a security guard at a packing factory in Kibbutz Magen and resided close to Rahat in the south, was apprehended in the area of Mivtahim, according to a report by the Times Of Israel. The report also detailed, “Al-Qadi was found inside a tunnel by commandos of the Navy’s elite Shayetet 13 unit. The operation was led by the IDF Southern Command, the Shin Bet security agency, and the IDF’s 162nd Division.”
The IDF shared on X, “Today, the IDF and ISA rescued the hostage Qaid Farhan Alkadi, aged 52, from Rahat, who was abducted by the Hamas terrorist organization into Gaza on October 7,” the IDF announced on X. “He is in a stable medical condition and is being transferred for medical checks at a hospital. His family has been updated with the details, and the IDF is accompanying them. Israeli security forces will continue to operate with all means to bring home the hostages.”
Today, Alkadi’s family was seen rushing towards him at the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva, where video captured their emotional reunion.
Emotional scenes unfolded as family members of Kaid Farhan al-Qadi raced to embrace him at the healthcare facility. The moment the Farhan Qadi family heard the news, they hurried to meet him at the medical center.
“I can’t explain this feeling, it’s better even than the arrival of a new baby,” Alkadi’s brother stated. “Thank God, we are thankful to everyone and we hope to see him soon healthy. We’re so happy, very happy to get this news.”
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated on X, “The IDF and ISA have rescued Qaid Farhan Alkadi from Gaza where he was held hostage, and brought him to his family in Israel. This operation was part of the IDF’s daring and courageous activities conducted deep inside the Gaza strip (sic). This operation joins a series of actions taken by the IDF that bring us closer to achieving the goals of this war. I would like to reiterate and emphasize: Israel is committed to taking advantage of every opportunity to return the hostages home to Israel.”
The IDF and ISA have successfully liberated Qaid Farhan Alkadi from captivity in Gaza and reunited him with his family. This mission highlights the bravery and bold undertakings by the IDF within Gaza.
On October 7, more than 1200 individuals were killed by Hamas in Israel, with 251 taken as hostages. Despite over a hundred hostages still being held, Israel maintains that many have unfortunately been executed by the militants. “At least 17 Bedouins were among those killed in the October 7 assaults,” noted The New York Times.
